RiskVersity Adds Cyber Risk Management Services to Portfolio
Mitch Harris, cybersecurity expert, will lead new business vertical
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – (Cincinnati, OH) RiskVersity has launched its Cyber Risk Practice led by cybersecurity expert Mitch Harris. RiskVersity specializes in helping organizations proactively manage exposure to risk and promote long-term stability through effective risk management practices.
“The RiskVersity team is thrilled to have Mitch Harris join us,” said Laurence Jones III, President and Co-Founder of RiskVersity. “His expertise is unmatched in the area of Cyber Security Risk Management, and his decades of experience will help our clients reach even higher levels of preparedness when it comes to risk management.”
The addition of the Cyber Risk Practice services comes at a time when companies across the world are rethinking what it means to run a virtual business. With employees working from home and accessing critical company data from external locations, the risk for security breaches and phishing attempts increases dramatically.
“Thousands of businesses are asking their employees to work from home,” said Mitch Harris, Senior Cyber Security Consultant at RiskVersity. “And with the sudden influx of hundreds of thousands of remote workers, the attack surface for hackers has just increased exponentially. Given the suddenness of it all, many businesses didn’t have the infrastructure in place to accommodate this change in their business culture. Add to that the lack of policies, procedures and controls that relate to working remotely, and they have unintentionally created a petri dish for attackers’ malware, viruses, trojans, worms, RATs etc.”
Harris warns that attackers tend to strike when businesses are uncertain or have the potential for weaknesses, and that now is precisely when hackers would be seeking ways to break into unsecure businesses. Lack of face-to-face interaction for authentication, less secure internet connections at employees’ homes, and outdated security features on personal computers and laptops are all factors that increase a businesses’ risk factor for cybersecurity attacks.
“The biggest problem is waiting to care about cybersecurity until you’ve already been breached,” noted Harris. “If you have customer data, employee information, payment records, or sensitive financial data that needs to be protected, now is the right time to examine how you can reinforce your business to be a virtual fortress when it comes to cybersecurity and at-risk information.”
RiskVersity provides risk management services to companies across the United States and is headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, and has an operating office in Greensboro, NC.

Cincinnati: class: Capital for Construction: Insurance Requirements & Bonding
Thursday, Sep 19 11:00 AM to 1:30 AM
ECDI has partnered with Laurence Jones of Riskversity to present Insurance Requirements and Risk Management for subcontractors. Insurance & Bonding is necessary to cover any claims or losses for which the contractor or vendor may be responsible. All subcontractors must procure, pay for, and maintain the required insurance coverage for the entire term of the purchase agreement or contract. All insurance policies are subject to the approval, so it is essential to understand what is needed before bid opportunities. The size and scope of the contract and the potential risk exposures involved will dictate the minimum limits of coverage required.
