RiskVersity, a pioneering minority-led risk management firm, proudly announces an organizational milestone of reaching 10 years of operations. Since its founding in 2015, the company has achieved remarkable growth and established an international presence, solidifying its place as a dependable, trustworthy organization that helps corporations, municipalities, and other organizations effectively manage their operational risk. This milestone 10th anniversary announcement comes during Black History Month, a fitting time to honor the achievements of minority-owned businesses and the impact they have made on their communities.
“When we started this company a decade ago, our mission was to build a successful business that was not only a leader in the field, but led by good and value-driven people,” said Laurence Jones, President and Co-Founder of RiskVersity. “The support of the business community, the dedication of our incredible team, and the resilience of our vision have been instrumental in our journey to this 10-year landmark. I’m incredibly grateful for the network of people who have supported us, including our families, mentors, and friends. I look forward to seeing what else is possible when we stick to our values, lead through service to others, and help other organizations and businesses thrive.”
RiskVersity was originally co-founded alongside Christopher Holmes and under partnership with RiskSOURCE Clarke Theders, now a part of One Digital. A portion of the company was divested to RiskSOURCE. The remaining partners, Jones and Holmes, are committed to continuing an organization that can outlive the daunting statistics faced by minority owned businesses. Across the United States, only 2.3 percent of businesses are Black owned, and a vast majority of these businesses never make it out of their first 12-18 months of operations. Despite these odds, RiskVersity has not only survived but thrived, expanding its client base across multiple industries and establishing partnerships globally.
“This journey has been about more than just building a business,” added Holmes. “It’s been about creating opportunities, pivoting our operations when we needed to, and demonstrating our willingness to work hard as individuals to support the success of the greater team. We had to learn together before we could lead together, and that remains true today.”
The success of RiskVersity is attributable to the character of the team that Jones and Holmes have built: the values of the organization are central to their hiring decisions. Their team operates out of three primary locations: Cincinnati, Greensboro, and Charlotte. Their clients include municipalities, such as both Hamilton County (Cincinnati) and Guilford County (Greensboro), as well as organizations like the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, REDI Cincinnati, Sinclair Community College, and the Cayman Island-based group Orchid.
